Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of somethingtools.com ("SomethingTools", "the site"). The site is operated by Uttam Mojumder, an individual ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. The service
SomethingTools offers free online tools, including PDF, image, QR code, text and calculator tools. Most of them run entirely in your web browser. You don't need an account and there are no fees. We may add, change, pause or remove any tool, or the whole site, at any time without notice.
3. Who can use the site
You can use the site if you're able to accept these terms where you live. If you're under the age of majority in your country, please use the site only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
4. Your files and content
Files and information you process with our tools stay yours. Because the tools run in your browser, we don't receive, store or access your files, and we claim no rights over them.
You are responsible for:
- having the right to open, convert, edit or sign any file you use with the tools;
- checking that the output is correct before you rely on it;
- keeping your own copy of the original file. Always keep the original before converting or editing.
5. Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- use the tools for anything unlawful, including forging documents, signatures or official records;
- process content you have no right to use, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to disrupt, overload or break the site, or get around its security;
- reverse-engineer the site, except where the law allows it;
- copy, scrape or republish the site's content at scale without our written permission;
- use automated systems to access the site in a way that puts unreasonable load on it.
6. Electronic signatures
The PDF Editor lets you add a drawn or typed signature to a document. This is a visual signature only. It is not a certified or qualified electronic signature, and we don't verify who signed. Whether it's legally valid for your purpose depends on the document and the law that applies to it.
7. Accuracy of results
Calculations, conversions, dates and exchange rates are provided for general information. They may contain errors or be out of date. Exchange rates come from a third-party provider and may not match the rate your bank or payment provider charges. Don't rely on the site alone for financial, legal, medical, tax or other important decisions. Check important results independently. See also our Disclaimer.
8. Intellectual property
The site's design, text, logo, graphics and code belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the site for personal or business purposes as intended, but you may not copy or redistribute it. Some features use open-source software, such as PDF.js and pdf-lib. That software stays under its own licence terms.
9. Advertising and third-party services
The site may show ads from Google AdSense and, with your consent, use Google Analytics. Some tools rely on outside services, such as the exchange-rate provider. The site may also link to other websites. We don't control third-party services or websites and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10. No warranty
The site is provided free, "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that results will be accurate or suitable for your purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
SomethingTools is a free service. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it. This includes indirect or consequential loss, and loss of data, files, profits, revenue or business.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data is and isn't processed when you use the site. It forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you are a consumer, this doesn't take away any protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Consumers in Finland can also take a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi). Please contact us first, though. Most issues can be sorted out quickly by email.
15. General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
